Faridabad: A 19-year-old man has been booked for attempted murder after allegedly shooting a 17-year-old girl at close range in Shyam Colony, Ballabgarh, Faridabad on Monday evening. The incident reportedly occurred after the girl, a Class XII student, stopped talking to the accused. Victim Sustains Injuries, Under Treatment The victim sustained bullet and splinter injuries to her left forearm and shoulder. She was immediately taken to a private hospital, where officials have confirmed that she is currently stable. However, she had stopped speaking to him about two weeks ago, which appears to have angered him,” Singh said. Police said CCTV footage shows the suspect lying in wait outside the library before opening fire. He allegedly tried to shoot her in the head but missed, hitting her in the forearm and shoulder instead. Accused Flees, Weapon Recovered After the shooting, the accused reportedly threw his country-made pistol at the scene and fled on a motorcycle. Police later recovered the weapon.
