New Delhi: Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan has shared an interesting behind-the-scenes detail about Sonam Kapoor’s wedding, revealing that she choreographed the actress’s sangeet ceremony as a personal wedding gift.
Speaking on a recent episode of her YouTube vlog, Farah opened up about the experience while interacting with actor-dancer Shantanu Maheshwari and reality TV personality Shruti Sinha.
Farah explained that she took complete responsibility for choreographing the sangeet performances as her way of celebrating Sonam Kapoor’s wedding. She recalled that the gesture was not part of a commercial assignment but a personal offering for the bride.
During the conversation, Shruti Sinha mentioned assisting during the wedding preparations, which prompted Farah to revisit memories from the event.
Farah described the scale of the rehearsals, noting that the several members of the Kapoor family and close friends were actively involved in the preparations. Celebrities including Arjun Kapoor, Rhea Kapoor, Masaba Gupta and Jacqueline Fernandez were part of the practice sessions.
She added that multiple participants were trained by her team, with her former assistant Firoz also working closely on the choreography arrangements.
Shruti Sinha also shared a personal memory from the rehearsals, recalling Farah’s encouragement during the process. She mentioned that the choreographer appreciated her performance and guided others to follow her lead, which made the experience memorable for her.
Sonam Kapoor married businessman Anand Ahuja on May 8, 2018, in Mumbai. The wedding was one of the most talked-about celebrity events of the year, with several Bollywood personalities in attendance.
The sangeet ceremony featured performances by prominent names including Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Anil Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor, making it a widely celebrated Bollywood gathering.
