Maharashtra Road Tragedy: Six die in Jalgaon highway crash while heading to family function

 Jalgaon: Six people were killed in a devastating road accident involving a motorcycle, a car and a State Transport (ST) bus on the Amalner-Dhule highway in Maharashtra’s Jalgaon district on Tuesday morning.

Deadly Collision Near Mangrul Village

The accident occurred around 7:00 am near Hotel Vrindavan in Mangrul village. According to preliminary information, a Gujarat-registered car collided with a motorcycle before crashing into an ST bus travelling from Amalner towards Dhule.

The impact of the collision was severe, leaving the motorcycle completely destroyed and causing extensive damage to the car. Emergency responders rushed to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the crash.

Six Lives Lost

Authorities confirmed that four occupants of the car and two riders on the motorcycle died in the accident. The deceased were identified as Nandlal Mahajan, Anita Mahajan, Suresh Mahajan, Nirmala Mahajan, Nilesh Tawade and Falguni Bhoi.

Officials said the victims were travelling to Amalner to attend an engagement ceremony when the tragic incident occurred.

The car driver, Aditya Mahajan, sustained serious leg fractures and was shifted to a private hospital for treatment.

Child Rescued from Wreckage

Amid the chaos, local residents, police personnel and staff members from the ST bus worked together to rescue a young child trapped inside the damaged car. The child was successfully pulled out alive and provided immediate assistance.

Police officials and emergency response teams, including Dial 112 personnel and ambulance services, coordinated rescue efforts and transported the injured to nearby hospitals.

Investigation Underway

Among those injured was Deepak Dilip Patil, a passenger travelling on the ST bus. Authorities have sent the bodies of the deceased for post-mortem examination.

Police have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident and whether factors such as speeding, driver error or road conditions contributed to the deadly collision. The inquiry is ongoing.
