Ex-army sepoy deprived from pension by Army, sits in a dharna

In the middle of the cacophony of protests in the vicinity of Jantar Mantar, one such protestor is Ex-Capt. Anant Luxman Nikam. The ex-army sepoy was a sentry in Tarapur Atomic Power Station in Thane.

An accident in the army changes his life to worse
In December 1988, he met with an accident inside the Army cantonment by an army car. Badly injured, Anant went into coma for 6 months. He underwent treatment in the Army hospital. 

 

Things turned out to be harsh when in 1992 he was handed the marching order. Not only that he was also deprived from his pension. Later in 1993 he filed a case, it is still pending before the Bombay High Court.

 

Sitting in protest in Jantar Mantar for past 2 years
According to a petition filed by him in 2001 before the defense ministry, his due pension from March 1992 to June 2003 has already amounted to Rs. 58,93,453. 

 

Now for the last 2 years Anant Nikam has been sitting in a protest in the vicinity of Jantar Mantar hoping to come across someone who could help him in getting back what is due to him.
