New Delhi/ 27 September 2016.
People around the globe are celebrating 36th World Tourism Day on Tuesday.

Since 1980, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) has been celebrating World Tourism Day on September 27.

The date was chosen as on that day in 1970, the Statutes of the UNWTO were adopted. The adoption of these Statutes is considered a milestone in global tourism.

The theme of this year’s World Tourism Day is “Tourism for All promoting universal accessibility.”

Every year UN General Assembly selects one country to host the World Tourism Day. This year, Thailand will be hosting the national level festivities of the day.

So let’s vow this Tourism Day to travel more and more. Travelling the world not only let us witness the variety in landscape and topography but also enriches us experiences about culture and history.
