Kanpur: Judicial Magistrate Pratibha Gautam found dead in mysterious circumstances

Pratibha Gautam, the Judicial Magistrate in rural Kanpur area, was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her residence in Circuit House Colony here.

 

When her husband Manu Abhishek, who is a lawyer, reached there from Delhi in the morning, nobody opened the door. He had to break open the door. When he entered the house, he was shocked to find Pratibha’s body hanging from the ceiling fan. 

 

Manu found her both wrists were injured. She was pregnant.


 
Abhishek went to the Police station and informed the police. Police has started investigation.

 

It was a love marriage between Abhishek and Pratibha in January 2016. According to her father even they didn’t know about their marriage at that time.

 

 

Abhishek while talking to media said that on 8 October Pratibha had come to Delhi by Shatabdi and while going home there were some hot talks between them. After that she got down from the car and left. 

 

He said he thought that she just had got angry and would come back after some time. Later, he came to know by her friend that Pratibha had gone back to Kanpur via Taxi.

 

Pratibha had joined Kanpur Dehat in 2015. It was her first posting as Judicial Magistrate. 

 

 

Her father Raja Ram said Pratibha was a brave girl. She can’t commit suicide, he added.


 
The body has been sent for post mortem. 

 

 

The police are presently taking stock of the situation. However, the exact reason for her death is still not clear.
