New Delhi: The Election Commission of India on Thursday announced the dates for the Gujarat assembly election.

As per the schedule, voting for the assembly elections in Gujarat will be held in two phases and the counting of votes will be held on 8 December.

Assembly Election Schedule

1. Gazette Notification: 5.11.2022 (First Phase) and 10.11.2022 (Second Phase)
2. Late Date of Nomination: 14.11.2022 (First Phase) and 17.11.2022 (Second Phase)
3. Date for Scrutiny of Nomination: 15.11.2022 (First phase) and 18.11.2022 (Second Phase)
4. Last Date of Withdrawal of candidatures: 17.11.2022 (First Phase) and 21.11.2022 (Second Phase)
5. Date of First Phase of Poll: 01.12.2022
6. Date of Second Phase of Poll: 05.12.2022
7. Date of Counting: 08.12.2022
8. Date before which election shall be completed: 10.12.2022

The term of current Gujarat Assembly will end on 18 February 2023.
