LS polls: 36.37% voting recorded till 1 pm in UP's 13 constituencies

Around 36.37% percentage voter turnout till 1 pm in thirteen seats of Uttar Pradesh for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 on Sunday.

Lucknow: Around 36.37 percentage voter turnout till 1 pm in thirteen seats of Uttar Pradesh for Lok Sabha Elections 2019 on Sunday.

The constituencies polling in the final phase are: Maharajganj, Gorakhpur, Kushinagar, Deoria, Basgaon, Ghosi, Salempur, Ballia, Ghazipur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Mirzapur and Robertsganj.

To ensure free and fair polls, EC has deployed 2183 micro observers while webcasting would be done from 2338 booths. Besides, for law and order 2183 sector magistrates, 229 zonal magistrates and 264 static magistrates have been deployed in this phase.

The epicentre of the campaigning in this phase was Varanasi, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the candidate of the BJP while another one is Gorakhpur, where the stake of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath would be decided.

Around 1.12 lakh polling personnel have also been deployed.Over 2 lakh security personnel have been deployed in 13 Lok Sabha seats in Poorvanchal area of UP for the seventh and last phase.
