Punjab: Minister Vijay Singla sacked from cabinet; arrested by police

Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, on Tuesday, sacked the state health minister Vijay Singla from the Punjab cabinet on charges of corruption. 

Shortly after his sacking from the cabinet. Singla was arrested by the police. An official source has given this information.

Chief Minister Mann said that Singla was allegedly demanding one per cent commission in the tenders and purchases of his department.

Singla (52) is an MLA from Mansa assembly seat. He defeated Punjabi singer and Congress candidate Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu in the assembly elections. He is a dentist.
