UP reports 1268 fresh COVID-19 cases
Uttar Pradesh on Thursday reported 1268 fresh Covid-19 cases during the past 24 hours while the number of recovered patients during the period was 4260.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that the state has carried out the highest number of Covid tests in the country.
At present, there are 25,546 active cases in the state with recovery rate going up to 97.4 per cent.
The CM while holding the regular Team -9 meeting here on Thursday said that number of daily new Covid patients has come down by 96.7 percent relative to the peak condition of 38,055 patients recorded on April 24. In this way, till now, a total of 16,41,000 people of the state have become healthy after being freed from corona.
UP is the only state which has done more than 5 crore COVID tests.
In view of the decreasing infection rate of corona, 64 districts with less than 600 active cases were exempted from corona curfew. According to the latest situation, the total number of active cases in Jhansi district has come down to 600.
Now 65 districts of the total 75 were exempted from day Corona curfew in the state , CM said.
CM added: "With the inspiration of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided that in the current academic session, Board examinations of 10th and 12th of the Board of Secondary Education will not be conducted. Detailed rules and other guidelines in this regard would be issued at the earliest."
He said OPD and IPD services are being started at district hospitals, community health centers and primary health centers with Covid protocol from June 4. "Operation can also be done. More and more people should be encouraged to use e-Sanjeevani or teleconsultation. Patients come to OPD only in special circumstances. Under no circumstances should there be any violation of the Covid protocol anywhere", he said.
CM said Covid vaccination is a protective cover to prevent infection.
"The Uttar Pradesh government, in collaboration with the Central government, is determined to provide vaccine-cover to all citizens at the earliest. Till now, 1,90,48,748 doses have been given in the state. Now, people of 18 plus age are being vaccinated in all the districts. In the last 24 hours, 3.5 lakh people got the vaccine-cover. All necessary steps should be taken to increase the daily vaccination capacity," he added.
