New Delhi: Yamaha has refreshed the XSR900 for the 2027 model year with a new white-based paint scheme that pays tribute to the Japanese manufacturer's sporting heritage. The updated livery draws inspiration from the 1993 Yamaha YZF750R, bringing a distinctly 1990s aesthetic to the modern neo-retro motorcycle.
The latest update focuses on styling, with no major mechanical changes announced for the upcoming model year. The new colour option is aimed at riders who prefer classic racing-inspired design combined with contemporary performance and technology.
The new Neon White finish features contrasting pink and blue graphics against a white background, recalling the distinctive colour combinations associated with Yamaha's performance motorcycles of the 1990s.
The scheme replaces the existing Heritage White option in the international line-up. Midnight Black continues to be offered, giving buyers an alternative to the brighter, heritage-inspired treatment.
The XSR900 retains its signature blend of retro styling and modern design elements, including its sculpted fuel tank, compact bodywork and minimalist roadster profile.
Powering the 2027 Yamaha XSR900 is the familiar 890cc, liquid-cooled, three-cylinder engine. The motor develops around 119 hp and 93 Nm of peak torque, with the same engine architecture also used in Yamaha's YZF-R9.
Yamaha has not announced changes to the motorcycle's powertrain or chassis for the new model year. The update therefore centres on the revised exterior finish rather than performance enhancements.
Although its design takes cues from earlier generations of Yamaha motorcycles, the XSR900 incorporates contemporary equipment. It features a five-inch TFT instrument cluster, selectable riding modes and a quickshifter.
The motorcycle also comes with fully adjustable KYB suspension, an aluminium Deltabox frame and LED lighting. These components combine everyday usability with hardware designed to support a more engaging riding experience.
The 2027 XSR900 has been listed on Yamaha's UK website, but pricing for the updated model has not been confirmed. The outgoing model carried a UK price tag of £11,104.
Yamaha has not announced an Indian launch for the XSR900. The company's domestic neo-retro offering includes the XSR155, which is positioned in a significantly lower displacement category. For 2027, the XSR900's key update is its new retro-inspired livery, preserving the motorcycle's existing mechanical package while giving it a fresh visual identity.
