New Delhi: Honda Cars India Ltd reported a steady 5% growth in its domestic sales for March 2026 with total sales reaching 7,585 units compared to the same month last year. The company also recorded exports of 2,451 units during the month. This growth reflects stable demand in the Indian market supported by the popular models and year end buying trends, while the company continues to maintain its presence in international markets.

Strong Demand Drives Sales Growth

The growth in domestic sales was mainly supported by the strong demand for popular models like Honda Amaze and Honda Elevate. These models continued to attract buyers across the country. Additionally, year end discounts and promotional offers played a key role in boosting sales as March is usually a busy period for car purchases.

Company Confident About Future Growth

Speaking on the performance, Kunal Behl, Vice President (Marketing & Sales) said that demand for Honda cars remains strong, especially for Amaze and Elevate. He added that the company is entering the new financial year with plans to expand its product lineup including the launch of its first electric vehicle.

Electric SUV in the Pipeline

Honda has already started testing its upcoming electric SUV across India. This model is known globally as the Honda 0 Alpha was the first revealed at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The vehicle will be tested under different Indian road and weather conditions before its official launch.

Manufacturing and Investment Plans

The upcoming electric SUV will be produced at the Honda’s Tapukara plant in Rajasthan. The company is investing around ₹1,200 crore in this project. Honda plans to launch this EV in both India and Japan as part of its global rollout in FY2026 27.
