Mahindra Expands EV Portfolio With New XEV 9S 7-Seater SUV
New Delhi: Mahindra has officially launched its most premium electric SUV, the XEV 9S, at a starting price of ₹19.95 lakh (ex-showroom). This new three-row model expands the company’s premium EV portfolio and serves as the flagship electric SUV alongside the XEV 9e. Built on Mahindra’s INGLO architecture, the XEV 9S focuses on maximizing cabin space, advanced onboard technology, and luxurious seating. Bookings for the SUV begin on 14 January 2026, with deliveries starting 23 January 2026.
The XEV 9S carries forward the design language of the BE 6 and XEV 9e, featuring a bold front fascia with connected LEDs and split LED tail lamps. Its overall cabin volume of 3,941 liters includes 527 liters of boot space and 150 liters of frunk space, making it one of the largest in its segment. The SUV offers sliding second-row seats, reclining options, ventilated seating, and the “Powered Boss Mode” to enhance rear passenger comfort.

The XEV 9S comes with a panoramic sunroof even in the base variant, emphasizing a premium and spacious feel inside the cabin. The SUV introduces Mahindra’s new AI system, MAIA AI, for voice-controlled infotainment and smart passenger experiences. A triple-screen dashboard, two BYOD rear entertainment displays, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, and a VisionX augmented-reality head-up display for the driver are also part of the premium package. Other features include ambient interior lighting, a full-length sky roof, a 65W fast-charging port, and an advanced AQI air purifier.
The XEV 9S is available in three LFP battery variants: 59 kWh, 70 kWh, and 79 kWh, paired with a 210 kW motor that generates 380 Nm of torque. With four drive modes and five regenerative braking settings, it is designed for both performance and efficiency. Mahindra claims that this 7-seater EV can accelerate from 0–100 km/h in just seven seconds and reach a top speed of 202 km/h, making it one of the fastest vehicles in its segment.

Mahindra has equipped the XEV 9S with seven airbags as standard, along with Level-2+ ADAS, which includes five radars and a vision camera. The system also monitors driver drowsiness for enhanced safety. The SUV has a ground clearance of 9 mm and a vehicle height of 1,745 mm, providing a robust stance and safe driving experience.
