New Delhi: Nissan is preparing to unveil its all-new Tekton SUV on July 9, with fresh spy shots offering a closer look at the model ahead of its official debut. The upcoming SUV is expected to play a key role in the company's expansion strategy in India, entering the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment.

Built on the Renault Duster’s CMF-B platform, the Tekton is expected to feature its own styling and technology package while sharing its underlying architecture.

Distinctive Exterior Inspired by Nissan Design

The latest test images suggest the Tekton will feature a bold front fascia with Patrol-inspired LED headlamps, connected daytime running lights (DRLs), a wide grille with chrome accents and newly designed alloy wheels.

Although the side profile remains similar to the Duster, Nissan has introduced several unique styling elements, including a connected LED light bar at the rear, a large roof spoiler and a redesigned single-piece tailgate to create a distinct identity.

Feature-Packed Cabin Expected

Inside, the Tekton is likely to offer a premium cabin finished with soft-touch materials and a blue, black and copper colour theme.

Expected features include dual digital displays, wireless smartphone connectivity, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a powered tailgate and other comfort-focused technologies aimed at modern SUV buyers.

Nissan’s Big Push in the SUV Market

The Tekton is expected to become a cornerstone of Nissan's India strategy after the discontinuation of the Kicks in 2023. Following the positive response to the Nissan Gravite, which reportedly helped drive strong domestic sales growth, the company is looking to strengthen its presence in one of India's fastest-growing vehicle segments.

The SUV is expected to compete with popular models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos and Tata Sierra.

Launch to Reveal Pricing and Powertrain Details

Nissan is expected to offer the Tekton with turbo-petrol and hybrid powertrain options, along with advanced driver assistance systems (Level 2 ADAS) and safety features targeted at a high Bharat NCAP safety rating.

The July 9 unveiling is expected to reveal the complete specifications, variants and pricing, with industry estimates placing the SUV in the ₹10 lakh to ₹18 lakh price range.
