Skoda India recalls Kodiaq SUVs
New Delhi: Skoda Auto India has officially initiated a voluntary recall for its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq, citing a manufacturing defect in the front seat frames. The recall addresses a safety concern that could potentially hinder the performance of the vehicle's side airbags during an accident.
According to the a disclosure filed with the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) the issue involves in inner frame of the front seats. Specifically a sharp or improperly finished edge on the frame could interfere with the deployment of the side airbags.
If a collision occurs, this defect may prevent the airbag from providing its full intended protection, thereby increasing the risk of injury to the driver or front-passenger.
