Nitish cabinet approves six big moves; 10 million youth to get job opportunities

Patna: Nitish Cabinet Meeting: Six major government decisions, including the goal of providing employment to 10 million youth in Bihar.

The new NDA-led government in Bihar held its first cabinet meeting today. All ministers, led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, attended the cabinet meeting. Following the landslide victory in the Bihar elections, the Nitish Kumar government's first cabinet meeting was held, in which Nitish Kumar outlined a blueprint for the next five years.

Twenty-five ministers, along with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, have taken oath and assumed their respective responsibilities. Following the meeting, Nitish stated that the Bihar government has set a goal of providing employment to 10 million youth in the next five years.

To achieve this goal, plans have been made for a new-age economy, technology hubs, and new industries. A high-level committee has been formed. Following this, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit held a press conference.

He stated that the state government is focusing entirely on industry and employment. He stated that the state government's priority is to create as many jobs as possible in Bihar.

Achieving the target of 10 million jobs and employment opportunities in the next five years is a priority. Nitish stated that under Saat Nischay-2, 5 million youth have already been employed between 2020-25.

Early after the formation of the new government, work to promote industries has been accelerated. The Chief Minister stated that policies will be formulated based on the suggestions of leading entrepreneurs and experts associated with the state to make Bihar a hub of the new-age economy.

He also stated that a detailed action plan is being prepared to establish Bihar as a global back-end hub and global workplace. The plan is to leverage the youth population to make Bihar the new technology hub of Eastern India.

To achieve this, a defense corridor, semiconductor manufacturing parks, global capability centers, mega tech cities, and fintech cities will be established. Nitish Kumar claimed that if Bihar's young human resources are properly guided, the state can become one of the fastest-growing in the country.

He said that the Council of Ministers approved the Defense Corridor and Semiconductor Manufacturing Park, aiming to develop Bihar as a new tech hub for Eastern India. The Chief Secretary stated that a policy and action plan have been developed for the establishment of new sugar mills and the revival of old, closed ones.

Additionally, the Bihar Artificial Intelligence Mission will be established to prepare for the improvement and beautification of all major cities in the state, and to make the state a leader in the field of government employment by utilizing new technologies.

Providing government jobs and employment to as many youth as possible in the state has been our priority from the beginning. Under Saat Nischay-2, 5 million youth in the state were given government jobs and employment between 2020-25.

In the next five years (2025-30), we have set a target of providing jobs and employment to 10 million youth. Chief Secretary Pratyaya Amrit said that keeping in view the increasing population of major cities of Bihar, the inevitability of master plan based development and future population pressure, increasing needs of the cities, keeping in mind the need for development of planned, environment-friendly and modern townships in the state, for planned and quality urban development in the state, in-principle consent and approval was given for preparing proposals for development of new satellite townships or greenfield townships in 11 cities namely- 09 divisional headquarters cities, Sonpur and Sitamarhi (Sitapuram), so that satellite townships or greenfield townships will be developed in the state.
