New Delhi: The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has made new three appointments of IPS officers in BPR&D, NCRB and SVPNPA.

Alok Kumar Mittal, an IPS officer of the 1993 Haryana cadre, has been appointed Director General of the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D), a Level-16 post. His tenure will run from the date he assumes charge until June 30, 2029 — his date of superannuation — or until further orders, whichever comes first.

Amit Garg, IPS (Andhra Pradesh: 1993), currently Director of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA), moves to the National Crime Record Bureau (NCRB) as Director. The post has been temporarily upgraded to DG level on a personal basis for Garg, who succeeds Shri Alok Ranjan, IPS (Madhya Pradesh: 1991). His term extends until October 31, 2027, his superannuation date, or until further orders.

In the third appointment, Sujeet Pandey, IPS (Uttar Pradesh: 1994), presently serving in his home cadre, has been named Director of SVPNPA in Garg's place. Pandey will hold the post until July 31, 2028 — his date of superannuation — or until further orders.

All three appointments took effect from the date of joining and are subject to further orders. The order was signed by Annies Kanmani Joy, Director in the ACC secretariat, with copies marked to the PMO, the Home Minister's office and the Cabinet Secretariat.
