Haryana govt reshuffles forest department
Chandigarh: In a strategic move aimed at strengthening environmental governance and wildlife conservation, the Haryana government has announced a significant reshuffle of senior forest officials.
The Department of Environment, Forests, and Wildlife has issued transfer and posting orders that will take effect immediately.
Subhash Chander Yadav becomes wildlife Chief conservator
Senior Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer Subhash Chander Yadav has been relieved from his duties as Conservator of Forests (CF) for the Gurugram South Circle, along with the additional charge of Chief General Manager (CGM) of the Haryana Forest Development Corporation. He has now been entrusted full-time with the role of Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife), highlighting the state government’s focus on strengthening wildlife conservation initiatives.
Raj Kumar Assumes Additional Charge
Raj Kumar, previously Deputy Conservator of Forests (DCF) for Gurugram, has been given the additional responsibility of CF for the Gurugram South Circle. This move aims to ensure better ecological management and balance in Gurugram, a rapidly urbanizing region with sensitive environmental concerns.
Key DFO Appointments in Gurugram and Kaithal
The reshuffle also brings fresh leadership to the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) posts. Bhupinder Singh, formerly with the Ambala North Circle, has been transferred to Kaithal as its new DFO. Meanwhile, Surender Dangi has been appointed as the new DFO for Gurugram, a critical role given the challenges of urban forestry and environmental management in the city.
The department has instructed all transferred officers to assume charge of their new responsibilities immediately, marking the start of a new chapter in Haryana’s forest administration.
