IPS Amitabh Yash’s Father Remembered with Respect in Lucknow,
People who came to pay tribute to Ram Yash Singh boosted the morale of IPS Amitabh Yash
Lucknow: Ram Yash Singh—a former IPS officer who served as the DIG of Bihar, and the father of IPS Amitabh Yash, ADG of Law and Order and UP STF Chief —had passed away on April 27. The ‘Trayodashi Brahmabhoj’ ceremony for the late Ram Yash Singh was held on Sunday in Lucknow, concluding in a deeply emotional setting. Many prominent personalities attended the event; after partaking in the Pitra Prasad (sacred food offered to ancestors), they offered their heartfelt tributes to the late Ram Yash Singh.
The Trayodashi ceremony, organized to pray for the peace of the departed soul, was held at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Vibhuti Khand, Lucknow. Those present at the ceremony fondly remembered Ram Yash Singh and offered their tributes to the departed soul.
Present on this occasion were the late Ram Yash Singh's son, IPS Amitabh Yash; his brothers, Rajneesh Singh, Rajiv Singh, and Brij Raj Singh; his grandson, Yash Vardhan Singh; his daughter-in-law (Amitabh Yash's wife), Renu Singh; along with several other family members and close relatives.
A large number of IPS and IAS officers, politicians, judges, legal experts, journalists, and many other eminent personalities were also there in attendance.
Ram Yash Singh, a 1985-batch IPS officer of the Bihar cadre, collapsed on the afternoon of April 27 following a heart attack. He was immediately rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
On April 28, he was accorded a heartfelt farewell with full state honours in Lucknow, and his last rites were performed amidst a somber atmosphere at Baikunth Dham in Bhaisakund. A large number of prominent dignitaries also joined his funeral procession.
Ram Yash Singh was born in 1944. He was a highly respected name within the Bihar Police force and the legal fraternity. He obtained his B.Sc. degree from Jain College in Arrah and subsequently became an IPS officer. He served as the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in districts such as West Champaran, East Champaran, and Jehanabad. While holding various positions, he made significant contributions to crime control and the strengthening of law and order.
Ram Yash Singh was known not only as a strict and honest police officer but also played a pivotal role throughout his career in reinforcing the law-and-order machinery. His contributions will always be remembered by one and all.
