Kannauj: In a significant administrative move aimed at strengthening law and order, Binod Kumar, Superintendent of Police, carried out a large-scale reshuffle in the district police force late on Saturday night. The transfer order includes two Inspectors and 15 Sub-Inspectors, triggering widespread discussion within the police establishment.

According to the official transfer list, several officers currently posted at Police Lines have been reassigned to field duties, while others have been shifted between police stations and outposts with immediate effect. One officer has also been sent back to the Police Lines over alleged negligence in duty.

A notable aspect of the reshuffle is the deployment of two female Sub-Inspectors in key positions. SI Raksha Singh, previously posted at the Police Lines, has been appointed in-charge of the Kala outpost, while SI Neetu Yadav has been assigned responsibility for the District Court outpost—considered a sensitive posting due to its high footfall and security importance.

Among other key changes, Inspector Kamal Singh has been posted as in-charge of the Monitoring Cell, while Inspector Digvijay Singh has been placed in charge of the Cyber Police Station to strengthen action against cybercrime cases.

Several Sub-Inspectors have also been shifted from Police Lines to outposts across the district, including Saraimira, Haseran, Umarda, Talgram Town, Medical College, and Chapunna.

In addition, multiple outpost in-charges have been reassigned or exchanged. Notably, Sahil Sharma has been moved from Kachhari outpost to Kusumkhor, while jurisdiction swaps have been made between officers at Thathia and Talgram police stations. Other transfers include postings across Sursi, Amolar, and Makrand Nagar outposts.

One outpost in-charge from Umarda has been sent back to Police Lines due to administrative reasons, reportedly linked to negligence.

Officials said the objective of this reshuffle is to improve operational efficiency, tighten supervision, and strengthen policing across Kannauj district. The sudden late-night order has, however, sparked considerable discussion within departmental circles.
