New Delhi: The Government of India has approved a major round of senior-level administrative appointments, with 27 officers assigned to Joint Secretary-level and equivalent positions across various ministries, departments and government organisations.
The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has cleared the appointments of officers from the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS) and other central services. The latest orders cover important government institutions, including the Election Commission of India, National Health Authority (NHA), National Testing Agency (NTA), NITI Aayog, Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) and National Commission for Women (NCW).
The appointments carry pay at Level 14 of the Pay Matrix, with the respective orders specifying the tenure of individual officers.
1. Brijesh Panday, IAS (Tripura cadre, 2004): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Capital Development. He will succeed Thara D, IAS (Gujarat cadre, 1995).
2. Nikhil Varma, IRS (Income Tax, 2005): Appointed Additional Director General of Foreign Trade at the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Delhi, under the Department of Commerce.
3. Tanvi Sundriyal, IAS (Madhya Pradesh cadre, 2010): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, with a combined tenure up to August 25, 2030.
4. Inderjeet Singh, IAS (Rajasthan cadre, 2010): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, with a combined tenure up to August 26, 2030.
5. Prakash Rajpurohit, IAS (Rajasthan cadre, 2010): Appointed Deputy Election Commissioner in the Election Commission of India, with a combined tenure up to April 8, 2030.
6. Tamboli Ayyaj Fakirbhai, IAS (Chhattisgarh cadre, 2009): Appointed Executive Director at Joint Secretary level in the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), under the Department of Financial Services.
7. Rajesh Malik, IRSME (1994): Appointed Executive Director of the Food Corporation of India (FCI), New Delhi, under the Department of Food and Public Distribution.
8. Mohammed Y Safirulla K, IAS (Kerala cadre, 2010): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare, with a combined tenure up to August 27, 2030.
9. Ritu Sharma, IRS (Income Tax, 2005): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
10. Varnali Deka, IAS (Assam-Meghalaya cadre, 2009): Appointed Joint Secretary in the National Health Authority (NHA), under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, with a combined tenure up to August 28, 2030.
11. More Ashish Madhaorao, IAS (Union Territories cadre, 2005): Appointed Additional Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Joint Secretary level in the National Health Authority, with a combined tenure up to June 15, 2030.
12. Vivek Khare, ITS (1996): Appointed Joint Secretary in the National Testing Agency (NTA), under the Department of Higher Education, with an overall tenure up to December 2, 2029. The appointment involves the temporary upgrading of a newly created Deputy Secretary/Director-level post to Joint Secretary level for an initial period of two years.
13. Ravi Shanakar, IAS (Gujarat cadre, 2007): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, with a combined tenure up to July 31, 2028.
14. Chittaranjan Dash, IRS (1999): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, with an overall tenure up to January 11, 2028.
15. P. Manoj Kumar, ISS (1998): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, with an overall tenure up to December 1, 2027.
16. Abhishek Bhagotia, IAS (Assam-Meghalaya cadre, 2007): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, with a combined tenure up to April 3, 2029.
17. Navin Agarwal, IRPS (1997): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Legal Affairs, with an overall tenure up to March 14, 2027.
18. M. Ramachandrudu, IAS (Bihar cadre, 2009): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs, with a combined tenure up to August 26, 2029.
19. Sonia Pant, IES (2001): Appointed Adviser at Joint Secretary level in NITI Aayog.
20. Nitin Kumar, CSS: Appointed Additional Secretary at Joint Secretary level in the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), under the Department of Personnel and Training.
21. C. Murugan, IAS (West Bengal cadre, 2007): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, with a combined tenure up to September 15, 2030.
22. Rajneesh Kumar Tomar, IRSME (1998): Appointed Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Joint Secretary level of National Highways Logistics Management Ltd (NHLML), under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, with an overall tenure up to November 2, 2030.
23. Nishtha Tiwari, IRS (Income Tax, 2005): Appointed CEO at Joint Secretary level of the Development and Welfare Board for Denotified, Nomadic and Semi-Nomadic Communities, under the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment.
24. Manisha Trighatia, IAS (Uttar Pradesh cadre, 2002): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Urban Development. She will succeed Roopa Mishra, IAS (Odisha cadre, 2004).
25. Avinash Jain, IRSE (Civil, 2001): Appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, with an overall tenure up to February 6, 2029.
26. Pawan Kumar, IRS (Customs and Indirect Taxes, 2005): Appointed Joint Secretary in the National River Conservation Directorate (NRCD), under the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
27. Anita Shah Akella, IA&AS (1996): Appointed Joint Secretary in the National Commission for Women (NCW), under the Ministry of Women and Child Development.
