
Sanjay Jaju appointed Telangana Chief Secretary (Img-Internet)
Hyderabad: The Telangana government on Friday appointed senior IAS officer Sanjay Jaju as the new Chief Secretary of the state. He will succeed K. Rama Krishna Rao, who is scheduled to demit office on June 30.
Jaju, a 1992-batch IAS officer, is currently serving as Secretary in the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region. The Centre had recently repatriated him to his parent cadre, Telangana, following a request from the state government.
The government has also appointed outgoing Chief Secretary K. Rama Krishna Rao as Advisor and ex-officio Special Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister after his superannuation on June 30.
Interestingly, Jaju will also hold charge of key portfolios, including Industries and Commerce, Information Technology, Chief Executive Officer of the Industry and Investment Cell in the Chief Minister’s Office, and SPEED - Smart Proactive Efficient and Effective Delivery - similar to his predecessor Rama Krishna Rao.
In a related administrative reshuffle, the government inducted Principal Secretary of Mines and Geology N. Sridhar into the Chief Minister’s Office as Principal Secretary. V. Seshadri, a 1999-batch IAS officer, is already serving as Principal Secretary in the CMO. CMO Special Secretary B. Ajith Reddy has been transferred and posted as Chief Executive Officer, Invest Telangana, in the Industries and Commerce Department.

Special Chief Secretary Sabyasachi Ghosh, who has been handling the implementation of flagship welfare and development schemes along with corporate social responsibility, has been given in-charge responsibility of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts. He will continue to hold additional charge of the Tribal Welfare Department.
Senior IAS officer Shailaja Ramaiyer has been posted as Principal Secretary of Environment and Forests, while also holding additional charge of Endowments and Director General of EPTRI. Ahmad Nadeem has been posted as Principal Secretary in the General Administration Department, relieving M. Raghunandan Rao. Nadeem will also hold in-charge responsibility of the Minorities Welfare Department.
Rahul Bojja, who was on leave, has been posted as Principal Secretary of Revenue and Disaster Management, relieving Dasari Harichandana. He will also hold additional charge of the BC Welfare Department. With N. Sridhar moving to the CMO, M. Raghunandan Rao has been given in-charge responsibility of the Mines and Geology Department.
Telangana Rythu Discom Chairman and Managing Director Md. Musharraf Ali Faruqui has been given additional charge as Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of TGREDCO.
Among other transfers, P. Katyayani Devi, Joint Managing Director of Telangana State Finance Corporation, has been posted as Special Secretary of Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts. K. Gangadhar, Executive Director of TGRERA, has been shifted as Special Secretary in the Roads and Buildings Department.
HMDA Joint Metropolitan Commissioner T. Venkanna has been posted as Municipal Commissioner of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation. Chief Secretary’s OSD K. Vidyasagar has been posted as Director of Tourism and will also hold charge as State Nodal Officer of the Prajavani programme.
GHMC Zonal Commissioner K. Chandrakala has been given in-charge responsibility as Joint Metropolitan Commissioner for Core Urban Region, Land Pooling and Metro Rail in HMDA.
