Chennai: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned the creation of several temporary IAS posts and announced the transfer and postings of key officers under Rule 4(2) of the IAS (Cadre) Rules, 1954. These measures aim to strengthen administrative efficiency across crucial departments.

Temporary Post Creations

Chief Secretary Grade: Two temporary posts of Additional Chief Secretary have been created:

• Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department
• Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection Department
• Each post will exist for one year from the date of appointment, or until the need ceases, whichever is earlier.
• Higher Administrative Grade: Four temporary posts of Principal Secretary have been created:
• Water Resources Department
• Public Works Department
• Natural Resources Department
• Energy Department
• Super Time Scale: Three temporary posts of Secretary have been created:
• Transport Department
• Revenue and Disaster Management Department
• Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, and Minorities Welfare Department
• Key Transfers and Postings

Additional Chief Secretaries:

• Thiru Gagandeep Singh Bedi has been posted to Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.
• Tmt. P. Amudha has been posted to Cooperation, Food and Consumer Protection Department.
