Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Home Department announced a fresh set of transfer and posting orders involving senior IPS officers, bringing changes to key police positions in Chennai and other important departments.

Maheshwar Dayal Shifted To Administration Wing

According to the notification, Dr. Maheshwar Dayal, IPS, who was serving as Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order), Chennai, has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police, Administration, Chennai.

The appointment was made by downgrading the existing vacant post of Director General of Police, Administration. The reshuffle marks a significant administrative change in Tamil Nadu’s senior police leadership, particularly in the law and order wing.

A Arun Posted To Vigilance And Anti-Corruption

Senior IPS officer A. Arun, who was earlier serving as Additional Director General of Police and was on compulsory wait, has now been appointed as Additional Director General of Police and Director, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Chennai.

The government order stated that the posting was made by downgrading the vacant post of DGP/Director in the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption department.

The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption wing plays a crucial role in handling corruption-related investigations involving public servants and government departments across the state.

T.S. Anbu Takes Charge Of Law & Order

T.S. Anbu, IPS, who was also on compulsory wait, has been appointed as Additional Director General of Police, Law & Order, Chennai.

He replaces Dr. Maheshwar Dayal in the position. The order was issued under the authority of Additional Chief Secretary to Government K. Manivasan.

The latest reshuffle is being viewed as an important move in the state’s police administration, with senior officers being assigned to strategic departments responsible for law enforcement, administration and vigilance operations across Tamil Nadu.
