Major Reshuffle in Uttar Pradesh Administration
Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring 13 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and assigning new responsibilities to several senior bureaucrats across key departments and divisions. The latest bureaucratic changes include the appointment of new divisional commissioners, senior departmental officers and heads of key government organisations. The move is being seen as an effort to improve administrative efficiency, strengthen governance mechanisms and streamline departmental functioning across the state.
According to the transfer order issued by the Uttar Pradesh government, several senior IAS officers have been assigned new responsibilities. The changes cover important administrative divisions, including Gorakhpur, Basti, Bareilly and Prayagraj, along with major departments related to housing, agriculture, power distribution, industrial development and labour administration.
The transfer of Gorakhpur Divisional Commissioner Anil Dhingra has emerged as one of the key highlights of the reshuffle. Anil Dhingra has been appointed as Housing Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh Awas Evam Vikas Parishad. Along with this responsibility, he has also been given the charge of Director, Urban Land Ceiling, and Secretary in the Housing and Urban Planning Department of the Uttar Pradesh government.
Indra Vikram Singh, who was serving as Secretary in the Agriculture, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Export Promotion Department and also as Director of the State Agricultural Produce Market Council, has been appointed as the new Gorakhpur Divisional Commissioner. His appointment is expected to bring administrative experience in handling large-scale government schemes and regional development programmes.
Principal Secretary Ravindra, who is currently handling responsibilities in the Agriculture, Agricultural Education and Research, Agricultural Marketing, Agricultural Foreign Trade and Export Promotion departments, will continue on his existing posts. He has also been given additional charge as Director of the State Agricultural Produce Market Council.
PCDF Managing Director Vaibhav Srivastava has been appointed as the new Basti Divisional Commissioner. Meanwhile, Secretary of the Home and Vigilance Department Prakash Bindu has been transferred and appointed as the Managing Director of PCDF.
Bareilly Divisional Commissioner Bhupendra S. Chaudhary has been shifted as Secretary of the Administrative Reforms Department, Uttar Pradesh government. Following this change, Shambhu Kumar, who was serving as Managing Director of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, has been appointed as the new Bareilly Divisional Commissioner.
Public Works Department Secretary Dr Lokesh M has been given the responsibility of Prayagraj Divisional Commissioner. The outgoing Prayagraj Divisional Commissioner Soumya Agrawal has been appointed as the Labour Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh.
Sandeep Kumar, Judicial Member of the Revenue Council, Prayagraj, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited. The appointment is expected to strengthen the administrative management of the power distribution company and improve operational coordination.
In other important changes, Gorakhpur Development Authority Secretary Pushp Raj Singh has been appointed as Additional Chief Executive Officer of Noida. Noida Additional Chief Executive Officer Satish Pal has been transferred to the Home Department of the Uttar Pradesh government as Special Secretary.
Dr Balkaar Singh, who was holding the posts of Housing Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh Awas Evam Vikas Parishad, Director Urban Land Ceiling and Secretary of the Housing and Urban Planning Department, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA).
The latest IAS reshuffle comes as part of the state government's routine administrative restructuring process under which senior officers are assigned new roles based on governance requirements, departmental priorities and policy implementation needs. The new postings are expected to take effect after the officers formally assume charge of their respective departments and offices.
