New Delhi: Amazon has confirmed fresh job cuts affecting fewer than 1,000 corporate employees across India, the US and the UK. The latest move comes amid a broader restructuring of its workforce and business operations.
Amazon has announced another round of workforce reductions, primarily affecting its Stores business, which manages the company's e-commerce operations. The company has not disclosed the exact number of employees impacted in India.
The latest cuts follow a series of workforce reductions as the e-commerce giant continues to reshape its corporate structure and simplify operations.
According to reports , the latest layoffs impacted teams working in customer service, marketplace support and engineering. Employees in India, the UK and the US were reportedly among those affected.
An Amazon spokesperson said the company had adjusted parts of its Stores business to better align its organizational structure with its priorities. The affected roles reportedly include positions in customer service, marketplace support and engineering.
The latest job cuts add to a series of workforce reductions carried out by Amazon under CEO Andy Jassy as the company continues to restructure its operations and streamline its corporate workforce.
The latest layoffs are linked to organizational changes rather than a single publicly stated reason. CEO Andy Jassy has repeatedly emphasized reducing bureaucracy, removing management layers and improving accountability across the company.

Amazon is also reviewing its workforce after expanding rapidly during the Covid-19 pandemic, when online shopping demand surged.
The latest reductions follow several major rounds of job cuts. Amazon eliminated more than 18,000 corporate positions in January 2023. It subsequently announced plans to cut up to 14,000 roles in October 2025, followed by another round affecting approximately 16,000 corporate employees in January 2026.
Together, the two more recent rounds account for roughly 30,000 planned corporate job cuts.
Amazon's growing investment in artificial intelligence has raised questions about its impact on employment. However, the company has not identified AI as the direct cause of the latest cuts.
The technology giant is investing heavily in AI infrastructure and encouraging employees to adopt AI-powered tools. At the same time, its restructuring reflects efforts to control costs, reduce organizational complexity and reassess staffing levels after pandemic-era expansion.
For employees in India, the latest development highlights continuing uncertainty across the technology sector as major companies reorganize teams and reassess their workforce requirements.
