New Delhi: The inaugural session of the Global Business Summit, organised by the Indian Chambers of Commerce (ICC) in New Delhi under the theme ‘Reinventing Global Business: Growth, Risk and Resilience’, brought together diplomats, senior business leaders, policymakers and industry representatives to discuss emerging opportunities in global trade and investment.
The first day of the summit featured a series of country-focused business sessions aimed at strengthening commercial engagement between India and key international markets. These included the India-Romania Business Session, India-Swiss Business Session, India-Africa Business Roundtable, India-Italy Business Session and India-Canada Business Roundtable. A separate session also focused on India’s Eastern and Northeastern growth corridor and its potential for economic expansion.
Speaking exclusively to Dynamite News on the sidelines of the ICC Global Business Summit, Sena Latif, Romanian Ambassador to India, described the current phase of bilateral engagement as an important moment for India-Romania relations.
"It is a redefining moment in the history of partnership between India and Romania. Our relations have always been good. India has stregthened the world. We have recently had a historic visit of the President of India to Romania. Both our President and Indian President have agreed to double the trade in the next few years. Many important agreements were signed in their presence. This encourages us to work closer with the private sector. We look to expand trade with India in sectors such as agrifoods, beverages and energy," tells Sena Latif, Romanian Ambassador to India, exclusively to Dynamite News on the sidelines of ICC Global Business Summit.
Latif highlighted the scope for greater private-sector participation and said Romania was looking to expand trade with India in areas including agrifoods, beverages and energy. The remarks came against the backdrop of discussions at the summit on strengthening business partnerships and identifying new areas of cooperation.

Inga Ionesii, Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to India, also highlighted the summit as an opportunity to showcase the investment and business prospects available to Indian companies.
"This Summit is good opportunity to represent my country and to speak about opportunities which Moldova can offer to India in business. We have a lot of common mutual interest in sectors like Industry and Pharmaceuticals. Moldova can be used by Indian companies as a regional hub to establish production in Moldova for pushing further exports to European markets. As Moldova is in the process of joining the EU, I think it is a good opportunity for India to establish production in Moldova."
Ionesii pointed to industry and pharmaceuticals as areas of mutual interest and said Moldova could serve as a regional production base for Indian companies seeking to expand exports into European markets.
The discussions on the first day reflected the summit’s broader focus on building resilient business partnerships, expanding market access and identifying new avenues for international trade and investment.
