Mumbai: The stock market crashed following six weeks of losses today on Monday. The Sensex closed up 746.29 points at 80604.08 points. Additionally the NSE Nifty as a whole rose 221.75 points to 24585.05 points.

This stock market boom primarily benefited business magnate Gautam Adani. His fortune increased by $503019188700 to $574 billion in a single day. As a result he moved back into the top 20 richest individuals in the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and his net worth increased to $79.7 billion.

Mukesh Ambani On 18th Number

18th on the list is Mukesh Ambani. In a single day he has made a profit of DOT 40 billion. His net worth is currently $992.5 billion. But when it comes to earnings only Elon Musk surpasses Adani. His jump of USD 6.69 billion places him at the top of the worlds 20 richest people list.

Larry Ellison the founder of Oracle is on rank second. $330 billion is his net worth. This brings his net worth to $305 billion. Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has lost $15 billion during this time despite having a net worth of $69 billion making him the third richest person in the world.

Indians In The List

There are numerous other Indians on this Bloomberg-released list of billionaires besides Ambani. With an estimated net worth of $35.3 billion HCL founder Shiv Nadar comes in at number 56 on the list. Shapoor Mistrys net worth is $32.3 billion while Savitri Jindals is $31.5 billion placing them 64th and 65th respectively.

Radhakishan Damani Sunil Mittal Lakshmi Mittal Dilip Shanghvi and Kumar Birla are among the other Indian business titans on the list.

Since March 2012 Bloomberg News has published a daily ranking of the billionaires worldwide known as the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. It keeps tabs on the 500 richest people on the planet. The ranking was intended to present the largest personal fortunes in the world in a more open and accountable manner. Initially tracking only the worlds 20 wealthiest individuals the index later grew to include 100 200 400 and 500 in October 2016.
