New Delhi: Gold prices have once again gained momentum in the Indian market. Despite minor fluctuations in global markets, domestic bullion prices are moving towards fresh highs.

According to the All India Sarafa Association, the price of 24-carat gold in Delhi has climbed to 1,56,000 rupees per 10 grams. Strong demand from jewellery manufacturers and retail buyers has supported the recent rise in gold prices.

Why Are Gold Prices Rising?

The biggest factor behind the increase in gold prices is the weakness of the Indian rupee. The rupee closed at around 95.28 against the US dollar.

When the rupee weakens, importing gold becomes more expensive for India, which directly impacts domestic gold rates. Market experts believe that both global trends and currency movements are playing an important role in determining gold prices.

MCX Gold and International Market Update

Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) also witnessed strength. Gold prices increased by 0.03% or 48 rupees, reaching 1,53,147 rupees per 10 grams, compared to the previous closing price of 1,53,099 rupees.

Meanwhile, in the international market, spot gold was trading lower at around 4,335 to 4,470 dollars per ounce amid global market fluctuations.
