New Delhi: Gopichand P Hinduja (GP Hinduja), chairman of the UK-based Hinduja Group, passed away in the UK on today on Tuesday. He was 85 years old. The head of this Indian-origin business family was known as a generational business magnate in the global business world and was among the world's richest people. Hinduja Group Chairman GP Hinduja assumed the chairmanship of the Hinduja Group after the death of his elder brother, Shrichand P. Hinduja (SP Hinduja), in May 2023. Following SP Hinduja's departure, GP Hinduja became the head of the family and group. Under his leadership, the Hinduja family maintained its top spot on the UK's wealth list (The Sunday Times Rich List 2025). According to the 2025 report, the Hinduja family's wealth exceeded £35 billion.
