New Delhi: Commercial LPG users have received a fresh price shock as oil marketing companies have increased the price of 19-kg commercial LPG cylinders by ₹9.50 from September 1, 2026.

After the latest revision, the price of a commercial LPG cylinder has increased to ₹2,747.50 from ₹2,738. The hike will directly impact businesses such as restaurants, hotels, catering services and other commercial establishments that depend on LPG for daily operations.

Two Consecutive Price Cuts Reversed

The latest increase comes after two months of continuous reduction in commercial LPG prices.

On August 1, the price of a 19-kg commercial cylinder was reduced by ₹192, while on July 1, rates were cut by ₹183.50. These reductions had provided some relief to businesses struggling with high fuel costs.

However, with the September hike, the trend has reversed and commercial LPG prices have started moving upward again.

5-Kg Free Trade LPG Cylinder Also Gets Costlier

Along with the 19-kg commercial cylinder, the price of the 5-kg Free Trade LPG (FTL) cylinder has also been increased.

The price of the 5-kg cylinder has gone up by ₹2, rising from ₹762 to ₹764.

Domestic LPG Cylinder Prices Remain Unchanged

There is no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders used by households.

The price of a 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder remains unchanged at ₹942 in Delhi.

The last increase in domestic LPG prices was implemented on June 7, when the price was raised by ₹29 per cylinder. Earlier, domestic LPG rates had also increased in March amid global energy market disruptions.

City-Wise Commercial LPG Cylinder Prices After Hike

Following the latest revision, commercial LPG cylinder prices in major cities are:

City Commercial - LPG Cylinder Price

New Delhi                            ₹2,747.50
Kolkata                                  ₹2,884
Mumbai                                ₹2,701
Chennai                                ₹2,916.50
Noida                                    ₹2,747.50
Gurgaon                               ₹2,764.50
Bangalore                            ₹2,831
Hyderabad                          ₹2,996
Lucknow                             ₹2,870
Patna                                   ₹3,029

Why LPG Prices Keep Changing

LPG prices are revised every month based on several factors, including international crude oil prices, currency exchange rates and global energy market conditions.

Earlier, commercial LPG rates had witnessed a sharp rise due to geopolitical tensions and supply concerns. After reaching record levels, prices were reduced in July and August before the latest increase.

Restaurants And Businesses May Feel The Impact

The increase in commercial LPG prices is expected to raise operating costs for businesses that use large quantities of cooking gas.

Restaurants, hotels, food stalls and catering companies may see their fuel expenses rise, and some businesses could consider adjusting prices to manage the additional cost burden.

For household consumers, however, the latest revision brings no immediate change as domestic LPG cylinder prices remain unchanged.
