New Delhi: Mercedes-Benz India has recorded its best-ever quarterly performance, selling 5,422 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, marking a 6 per cent increase from the 5,119 units retailed during the same period last year.
The luxury carmaker also reported a 17 per cent rise in sales compared with the previous quarter, highlighting continued demand for premium vehicles in the Indian market.
The company achieved its highest-ever January-September sales, retailing 15,190 units during the first nine months of 2026. This represents growth of around 8 per cent compared with the 14,132 units sold during the corresponding period last year. Mercedes-Benz attributed the performance to strong demand across its top-end luxury portfolio, including the S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach models, EQS Maybach SUV, G-Class, V-Class and AMG range.
The company’s top-end models recorded more than 13 per cent year-on-year growth and contributed over a quarter of total sales. Mercedes-Benz said its MANUFAKTUR personalisation programme accounted for nearly 75 per cent of sales within the top-end segment, reflecting demand for highly customised luxury vehicles.
The AMG portfolio also delivered strong momentum with deliveries increasing by more than 18 per cent. The AMG G 63 achieved its highest-ever monthly sales, further strengthening the performance of Mercedes-Benz’s high-performance range.
Mercedes-Benz India is preparing to introduce new products as it looks to maintain the momentum in the luxury market. Deliveries of the new electrified S-Class are scheduled to begin in mid-October, giving customers an additional electrified option in the flagship luxury segment. The new GLC BEV is also set to make its India debut on November 4, 2026. The upcoming electric SUV is expected to add further depth to the company’s electric vehicle portfolio in India.
Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, said the company’s record performance reflected its focus on product quality, brand exclusivity and customer experience. He said the company had recorded its best quarterly performance in each quarter of calendar year 2026 with its product mix new powertrains and focus on customer experience contributing to the brand’s performance. According to Iyer, the upcoming GLC BEV has already generated significant anticipation, while the arrival of the electrified S-Class is expected to further strengthen Mercedes-Benz’s position in India’s luxury vehicle market.
The latest sales performance underscores the continued appetite for premium and high-end vehicles in India, particularly in segments offering advanced technology, performance and personalisation.
With new electrified models scheduled for launch and strong demand for its top-end portfolio, Mercedes-Benz India is looking to build on its record sales momentum through the remainder of 2026.
