New Delhi: Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) and Google have announced a strategic partnership, under which the two companies will jointly expand the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in India. The key highlight of this partnership is that Jio users will receive free access to the Google AI Pro plan for 18 months. This offer is valued at approximately ₹35,100 per user. Users will receive increased limits on image and video capture, along with Google Gemini 2.5 Pro, the latest Nano Banana, and Vio 3.1 models. Premium services such as increased access to Notebook LM for study and research, and 2TB of cloud storage are also included in the offer.

This feature will initially be available to Jio users aged 18 to 25, but will later be available to all Jio users. The company will only provide this AI feature to Jio customers with 5G Unlimited plans. This feature is being offered to Jio customers by Reliance's subsidiary, Reliance Intelligence Limited, and Google. The aim is to connect every Indian consumer, organization, and developer with AI.

The partnership aligns with Reliance's "AI for All" vision. Mukesh D. Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, said, "Our aim is to make AI services accessible to 1.45 billion Indians. Together with long-term partners like Google, we want to make India not just AI-enabled, but AI-enabled, where every citizen and organization can leverage AI to thrive."

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google and Alphabet, said, "Reliance has been a key partner for us in realizing India's digital future. Now, we are taking this collaboration into the AI era. This initiative will bring Google's cutting-edge AI tools to Indian consumers, businesses, and developers."

To help India become a global AI hub, Reliance and Google will expand companies' access to advanced AI hardware, namely Tensor Processing Units (TPUs), in India. This will help Indian industries to develop large and complex AI models.
