Ranipet: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister of MK Stalin inaugurated the first unit of Tata Motors JLR’s state-of-the-art automobile manufacturing facility at the Ranipet Mega Industrial Park on Monday.

The Rs9,000 crore project is expected to provide direct employment to 5,000 people, with each production unit costing Rs900 crore.

The inauguration was graced by Tata Motors Chairman N Chandrasekaran along with several dignitaries including BN Banerjee, Gandhi, TRB Raja, Member of Parliament S Jagatheesan, Tamil Nadu Chief Secretary Muruganandam, IAS, and other senior officials and members of the state assembly.

Chandrasekaran highlighted that the event marks a milestone not only for Tata Motors but also for Tamil Nadu, reinforcing the state’s position as a preferred destination for large-scale industrial projects.

The modern plant reflects global standards in automobile manufacturing, particularly in the electric vehicle sector.

Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Stalin emphasized Tamil Nadu’s investor-friendly policies, reliable infrastructure, and skilled workforce, making the state highly competitive both nationally and internationally.

He noted that globally recognized automotive companies have chosen Tamil Nadu for their manufacturing projects, with the state emerging as a hub for electric vehicle production.

The Ranipet JLR plant will manufacture luxury Jaguar Land Rover vehicles, including the Range Rover Evoque, further strengthening Tamil Nadu’s industrial capabilities. Completed in just 16 months, the project demonstrates the state’s efficiency and suitability for large-scale investments.

The Chief Minister also assured continued government support for investors, highlighting Tamil Nadu’s “Dravidian Model” of governance, which prioritizes transparent and effective project implementation.

He stated that the government will simplify procedures, approvals, and business processes to ensure smooth operations for all investors.

Under the leadership of Shri Ratan Tata, Tata Motors’ investment in Tamil Nadu is expected to significantly boost the state’s industrial growth and support India’s transition to electric mobility.

With world-class infrastructure, skilled manpower, and a stable business environment, Tamil Nadu continues to be the “first choice” for global and domestic investors alike.
