Understanding the RBI Holiday Calendar

The RBI’s holiday calendar for November 2025 lists 11 official bank holidays, which include national, regional, and RTGS-specific holidays. In addition to these, banks also observe weekly holidays on the second Saturday and Sunday of every month. These closures may temporarily affect in-branch banking services and customer transactions.

Essential Banking Services Still Available

Even on holidays, customers can access digital banking and self-service platforms to carry out essential financial transactions. These include:

Online and mobile banking for fund transfers, balance checks, and bill payments

NEFT and RTGS services within operational windows

ATM withdrawals and card payments

Online requests for chequebooks, demand drafts, and account-related services

Planning Ahead Is Key

Customers are encouraged to plan in-branch visits around the holiday and rely on digital channels to ensure uninterrupted banking services. The Wangala Festival, while culturally significant, may temporarily affect physical banking operations in certain regions, especially Shillong, but digital platforms remain fully functional.
