New Delhi: Police have registered a murder case against a woman and her live-in partner in connection with the death of her five-year-old daughter, Vennela. The child was found dead on March 25, and fresh allegations by her father have prompted a deeper investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

The FIR was filed at Kadugodi Police Station on June 4 under sections related to murder, destruction of evidence, and common intention under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

Live-In Partner Questioned by Police

Investigators have secured the woman’s partner, Mohan G, and are questioning him as part of the ongoing probe. Police officials said the allegations mentioned in the complaint are being examined carefully and that further investigation is underway.

Authorities are now attempting to establish a clear timeline of events leading up to the child's death.

Father Raises Doubts Over Circumstances

The complaint was filed by the child's father, who alleged that he received conflicting explanations regarding how Vennela died. According to the FIR, the parents had been living separately, and the child was staying with her mother at the time of the incident.

The father claimed that one account suggested the child had eaten food before being found dead the next morning. A later version allegedly stated that the girl had been left asleep inside an air-conditioned car while her mother and Mohan attended a birthday celebration before she was taken home.

The differing narratives reportedly increased his suspicions.

Post-Mortem Report Sparks Further Questions

The father's concerns intensified after he reviewed the post-mortem report. He later shared the findings with a relative who is a paediatric specialist, leading to additional doubts about the reported cause of death.

In his complaint, he alleged that the accused intentionally harmed the child and attempted to conceal evidence. Police have not confirmed these claims and say all allegations remain under investigation.

Probe Continues

Officials say the case remains open and that evidence, witness statements, and forensic findings will determine the next course of action. Investigators are working to establish the exact circumstances that led to the five-year-old’s death
