New Delhi: Violent clashes erupted in Shantirbazar, Dhalai district, Tripura on Thursday evening. Chief Minister Manik Saha stated that this was the result of a big conspiracy. He hinted that not only outsiders but also political figures within the ruling coalition may be involved in the unrest.

After visiting injured government officials and a businessman undergoing treatment at Agartala Government Medical College and GBP Hospital on Friday, Saha condemned the attacks that occurred during a 24-hour statewide shutdown called by the Tiprasa Civil Society. The Tiprasa Civil Society is affiliated with the Tipra Motha Party, an ally of the BJP.

'Strict action will be taken'
He said that strict action will be taken against those who attempt to destabilize the state and put pressure on the government through violence. He said, "This is clearly part of a conspiracy. I have already explained everything in my social media posts. The government will not tolerate such acts, and the police have been instructed to take strict action against the culprits."

The Chief Minister's comments come amid growing tensions between the BJP and Tipra Motha. In his social media posts, Saha strongly condemned the "violent attack" by Tipra Motha supporters on Block Development Officer Abhijit Majumdar, Engineer Animesh Saha, and several residents of Shantirbazar and directed the administration to take swift and strict action against those involved in such incidents.

What did CM Saha say about factionalism within the BJP?
When further asked whether factionalism within the BJP contributed to the situation, Saha denied it and simply said that everything is included in a conspiracy. Tripura BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya also described the incident as a deliberate conspiracy to disturb the law and order situation and defame Tripura.

The violence erupted when bandh supporters allegedly clashed with local shopkeepers, attacking them and officials on duty with rods and sticks and looting valuables.
