New Delhi: A bizarre incident in Chhattisgarh’s Bilaspur district has left police investigating an unusual case involving an alleged ‘tantrik’ ritual performed to secure bail for a relative accused in a stabbing case.
A man was questioned by Bilaspur Police after villagers reportedly caught him carrying out suspicious activities at a cremation ground.

According to police, the incident took place at a cremation ground in Devri village under the Sipat police station area during the night between Friday and Saturday.
Villagers noticed four men allegedly performing a ritual at the site and confronted them. While three people managed to escape, one person identified as Rishikesh Kumar was caught and handed over to the police. During the investigation, police recovered several items from the spot, including fish, lemons, vermilion and photographs.
Police officials said the recovered photographs included one of Chhattisgarh High Court Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha, along with photos of other individuals, the accused person seeking bail and the victim in the stabbing case.

During questioning, Kumar allegedly told police that his relative Priyanshu Bole was arrested in connection with a stabbing case. Since some accused had received bail while others were still awaiting court decisions, the group allegedly turned to a ritual after watching an online video claiming such methods could influence bail outcomes.
Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Rajnesh Singh said legal decisions cannot be changed through rituals or such practices. He warned people against relying on superstition and said strict action would be taken if anyone attempts such activities.
Police are continuing their investigation to identify all those involved and determine the exact circumstances behind the alleged ritual.
