Patna: Educator Faisal Khan, popularly known as Khan Sir, received anticipatory bail from a Patna court on Monday in connection with the coaching institute firing case. The court also granted similar relief to his two bodyguards and three members of the coaching institute's staff.
Defence counsel Arvind Kumar Mouar said the court approved anticipatory bail for all six accused. According to the lawyer, the judge first pronounced the order in favour of Khan Sir before extending the same relief to the staff members named in the case.

The matter relates to an incident that took place on the night of June 2 outside Khan Sir's coaching institute in Patna. Following reports of vandalism at the institute, police launched an investigation into allegations of firing during the disturbance.
During the probe, investigators claimed that two security guards attached to Khan Sir fired shots into the air. The weapons were later seized and sent for forensic examination, after which Khan Sir was also named in the case.
Earlier, the court had granted interim protection to Khan Sir by directing that no coercive action be taken against him while the investigation continued. The order on his anticipatory bail plea had been reserved after final arguments and was later pronounced on Monday.

Soon after the incident, Khan Sir had alleged that anti-social elements and a coaching mafia were responsible for the attack on his institute. However, he later withdrew those allegations as the investigation progressed.
Separately, Khan Sir's coaching centres in Prayagraj recently came under scrutiny during inspections conducted after a fire incident at another coaching institute in Lucknow. Officials of the Prayagraj Development Authority sealed Khan Global Classes, stating that the building had commercial approval but lacked the mandatory land-use permission required for operating a coaching institute under applicable regulation
