New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has intensified its probe into the death of actor-model Twisha Sharma by examining claims made by her husband Samarth Singh during earlier police questioning. Investigators are now cross-checking those statements with medical records, WhatsApp chats, digital evidence and witness testimonies.

The agency formally took over the investigation from Bhopal Police and re-registered the FIR against Samarth Singh and his mother Giribala Singh under provisions related to dowry death and harassment.

A Special Crime Unit team reached Bhopal and collected documents, statements and evidence gathered during the initial investigation.

Deleted Chats and Digital Evidence Under Scanner

One of the key aspects of the probe involves deleted WhatsApp conversations allegedly removed from Samarth Singh’s phone. Investigators are attempting to retrieve the missing chats through technical analysis.

According to sources, the deleted messages reportedly included conversations between Twisha and her family members. Officials believe these chats may provide insight into her marital life and the circumstances leading up to her death.

Investigators are also comparing phone records, CCTV footage and witness statements to verify Samarth Singh’s version of events.

Pregnancy Claims Being Verified

The CBI is also examining claims related to Twisha Sharma’s alleged pregnancy and abortion. During questioning, Samarth reportedly told police that he wanted to become a father, while Twisha allegedly did not wish to continue the pregnancy.

He claimed the abortion was carried out after medical consultation and with prescribed medication. Investigators are now collecting hospital records and medical documents to verify those claims.

However, some recovered messages reportedly suggest disputes within the marriage regarding the pregnancy, including allegations that Samarth questioned the paternity of the unborn child.

Mental Health Treatment Part of Probe

Another major focus of the investigation is Twisha Sharma’s mental health treatment. Samarth reportedly claimed she suffered from Bipolar Disorder and emotional distress after marriage.

The CBI is examining whether psychiatric consultations, prescribed medicines and treatment procedures were medically justified and whether her family had been informed about them.

Twisha’s family has alleged that the mental health treatment began only after marital disputes escalated.

Dowry Harassment Allegations Continue

Twisha Sharma was found dead at her Bhopal residence earlier this month, just months after her marriage. Her family has accused her husband and in-laws of dowry-related harassment, while the accused side has denied wrongdoing.

The agency is continuing to examine all evidence as the investigation progresses.
