Coimbatore – Panic gripped the Coimbatore Collector’s office this morning when a special team from the Bomb Disposal Squad conducted a thorough search operation across 30 departments, including the garden area and the elevators, reports Dynamite News correspondent.
Bomb Threat Letter Found to Be a Hoax, Relief After Initial Tension
The operation was launched after a letter was received, purportedly written by senior advocate Muthuswamy and addressed from the Tenkasi Munsif Court. In the letter, the sender claimed to have knowledge of a major bomb plot targeting the Coimbatore Collector’s office and mentioned that the advocate’s life was also in danger.
Upon investigation, police contacted advocate Muthuswamy, who clarified that the letter was fake and written on a forged letterhead using his name without his knowledge.
After nearly three hours of intensive checking and verification, the police declared the premises safe and confirmed that the bomb threat was a hoax. The incident ended with a sigh of relief after the initial panic.
