Chittoor: A visit to a temple on Amavasya allegedly became part of a planned murder in Andhra Pradesh’s Chittoor district, where police arrested a 19-year-old woman, her alleged lover and two other men for the killing of her husband.
The victim, identified as 23-year-old Ramesh, was a resident of Sulagiri in Tamil Nadu’s Krishnagiri district and worked at a private company in Hosur. He had married Hasini around two years ago, and the couple had a young daughter.

According to police, Hasini persuaded Ramesh to visit the Sri Malleshwara Swamy Temple in Gudupalle mandal along with their daughter. During the journey, she allegedly shared the family’s live location with her childhood friend and alleged lover, Yugandhar, enabling him and his associates to follow their movements.
Investigators suspect that Hasini deliberately dropped her handbag near the third hairpin bend on the temple road, prompting Ramesh to stop his motorcycle. Yugandhar and the other accused allegedly emerged from hiding and attacked Ramesh with sharp weapons after chasing him towards a nearby forest.
The investigation began after Hasini’s mother informed police that her daughter and granddaughter had not returned home. CCTV footage from the temple route reportedly showed Ramesh arriving with his wife, while Hasini was later seen leaving on his motorcycle with other men.

Police subsequently examined mobile-phone records, GPS information and other technical evidence, which reportedly helped them locate Ramesh’s body and identify the suspects within hours.
Police have arrested Hasini, 20-year-old Yugandhar and two alleged accomplices. The precise motive, sequence of events and role of each accused remain under investigation.
Authorities are also examining claims that Hasini may have been a minor when she married Ramesh. Should those claims be established, separate legal proceedings under laws prohibiting child marriage may follow.
