New Delhi: A 16-year-old boy has been apprehended for allegedly attacking another teenager with a paper cutter near the Red Fort area last month following a dispute over money for drugs, police said on Tuesday.
The accused had been absconding since the incident and was later traced to Haridwar after a sustained search operation.

The case surfaced on April 5 when police were alerted by Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital about a 17-year-old boy admitted with severe injuries. The victim, a resident of Nangloi, had suffered deep wounds on his neck and abdomen and was initially unable to record a statement.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the assault followed a confrontation between the two teenagers at Parade Ground near the Red Fort.
A police team launched an investigation, scanning CCTV footage from the area to identify the suspect. The accused was eventually traced with the help of local intelligence inputs, which indicated that he frequently stayed around the Chandni Chowk area.
Officials said the boy had been living as a vagabond for the past two years.
Despite multiple raids across Delhi and nearby regions, the accused remained untraceable for weeks. Police then tracked his mobile phone, which led them to Haridwar in Uttarakhand.
On April 29, a team conducted a raid in a village and apprehended the juvenile.
During interrogation, the accused allegedly admitted to being addicted to drugs. On the night of April 4, he reportedly demanded money from the victim, which led to an argument. After being refused and allegedly slapped, he attacked the boy with a paper cutter.

The accused reportedly disposed of the weapon and his clothes while escaping to avoid detection. He is also linked to a separate attempt to murder case registered at the Jama Masjid police station.
Police said further investigation is underway to gather more details about the incidents and any possible connections.
