New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Friday issued notice on the bail plea by Olympian Sushil Kumar and sought the detailed status report from Delhi Police. Sushil is one of the accused in the murder case of former junior national wrestling champion Sagar Dhankar at Chhatrasal Stadium.

Justice Anup J Bhambhani issued notice to Delhi Police and called for a detailed reply. The notice was also issued to the kin of deceased Sagar.

Justice Bhambhani remarked, "I think you are being ambitious," while recalling that the Supreme Court had cancelled the bail granted to Kumar by the High Court in August last year.

"Once the Supreme Court has taken a view, what do you expect from me?" the Court asked.

Counsel for Sushil Kumar pleaded that the bail was cancelled by the Supreme Court on the plea of the deceased father who had sbmitted that the public witnesses had not been examined and there was apprehension of influencing the witnesses.

The counsel for the accused said that since all public witnesses have been examined in the trial, the bail plea should be considered.
