Former Karnataka Police Chief Om Prakash
Bengaluru: A shocking revelation has been made in the case of the death of former Karnataka Police Chief and 1981 batch IPS officer Om Prakash.
According to Dynamite News correspondent, 68-year-old Om Prakash was found dead in his house in Bengaluru on April 20 and now the police have detained his wife as the main accused in this case. The initial investigation of the police has revealed that Om Prakash was murdered by his wife and this murder took place during a domestic dispute.
According to sources, there was a heated argument between Om Prakash and his wife on the afternoon of April 20. It is being told that this quarrel took place over property. Om Prakash had given a part of his property to his relative.
Due to which his wife got angry. During the quarrel, his wife threw chilli powder on Om Prakash, then tied him up and attacked him with a knife. Om Prakash was also attacked with a glass bottle. Due to which he was badly injured.
After the murder, Om Prakash's wife called the wife of another policeman and told her about the murder. After this, the police immediately reached the spot and started investigation and took Om Prakash's wife and his daughter into custody.
The police interrogated the mother and daughter for about 12 hours. According to media reports, several knife wounds were found on Om Prakash's stomach and chest, which made it clear that the murder was done in a very heinous manner. In this case, the police is now also investigating whether Om Prakash's daughter was also involved in this incident or not.
According to reports, the dispute between Om Prakash and his wife over property had deepened. Om Prakash had given one of his properties to his relative, due to which his wife was angry. This dispute escalated so much that it reached a quarrel and assault. The police have registered a case on the complaint of Om Prakash's son and the investigation is still going on.
Additional Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, Vikas Kumar said, “We received information around 4 am that a retired police officer had died. Upon investigation, it was found that Om Prakash was murdered by his family members. We are investigating the case thoroughly.”
