New Delhi: A Flipkart delivery executive has been arrested in Bengaluru after a woman accused him of entering her apartment without permission and sexually harassing her following a parcel delivery. The incident, which was first shared by the complainant on social media, prompted swift police action after the allegations gained widespread attention online.

Delivery Visit Turns Into Police Case

The accused has been identified as Vijay Mallikarjun Kamath. According to Bengaluru Police, he was taken into custody after a case was registered at the Marathahalli Police Station based on the woman's complaint.

Police have booked the accused under Sections 75 (sexual harassment), 79 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 329(2) (house trespass) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). The investigation is currently underway.

Woman Alleges He Entered Despite Repeated Refusal

According to the complainant, the delivery executive arrived at her residence to deliver a package before asking if he could use her washroom. She said she declined the request multiple times, explaining that she did not allow strangers into her home.

The woman also claimed she suggested he seek help from neighbouring residents if it was an emergency. Despite her refusal, she alleged that the delivery executive removed his footwear and entered the apartment without her consent.

Incident Captured on Phone

The woman stated that she became frightened after the man entered her flat and began recording the interaction on her mobile phone. She also kept the main door open and remained close to the entrance, fearing for her safety in case she needed to escape or call for help.

In her complaint, she alleged that after coming out of the washroom, the delivery executive exposed himself to her, leaving her shocked and distressed. She said the incident made her feel unsafe in her own home and highlighted the importance of respecting a woman's refusal and personal boundaries.

Police Act After Social Media Post

The alleged incident came to light after the woman shared her account along with a video on social media. As the post gained traction, Bengaluru Police contacted her to verify the allegations and obtain the necessary details for legal action.

Following the registration of the First Information Report (FIR), police arrested the accused. Authorities have said further investigation is ongoing, and additional action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the probe.
