Bengaluru: A shocking incident has come to light from the Whitefield area of Bengaluru. A former employee of the Indian Space Research Organization has been arrested for allegedly strangling his wife to death.

According to the police, the accused, identified as Nagesh Eshwar Rao, was taken into custody on Wednesday morning. The body of his wife, Sandhya Sree, was recovered from their flat in the Virtuoso Apartment Complex in the Bommanahalli area.

The issue of depression came to light

According to police officials, preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused had been undergoing treatment for depression for some time and was mentally disturbed. The investigation also revealed that Rao was deeply worried about his wife's future after his death. Due to this apprehension and mental pressure, he took this dreadful step.

Whitefield DCP said that the accused himself intended to commit suicide after the incident. However, due to the timely action of the police, he was arrested. Officials say that the investigation so far has not indicated any other major reason.

Information given to daughter; investigation continues

Police said that the couple has a daughter, who lives in America. Information about the incident has been given to her. At present, the police are investigating the matter thoroughly, and the postmortem report is awaited so that the exact cause of death can be confirmed.
