Gurugram Double Murder
Gurugram: A 45-year-old school principal and her 25-year-old son were allegedly shot dead by her husband following a family dispute in the early hours of Sunday in Gurugram, police said.
The deceased have been identified as Asha and her son Prashant. Police said both sustained fatal gunshot injuries and were declared dead at the scene.
According to police, information about the shooting was received at around 12:05 am. A team from Sector-5 police station reached the spot immediately, secured the area, and initiated an investigation.
A forensic team was also called to collect evidence from the crime scene.
Police identified the accused as Anil, who works as a security officer in a private company. He was detained shortly after the incident.
A case of murder has been registered at the Sector-5 police station.
Officials said preliminary investigation indicates that the shooting was linked to a family dispute. However, police are still verifying the exact sequence of events and the circumstances that led to the double murder.
The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination and will be handed over to the family after completion of legal formalities. Further questioning of the accused and collection of forensic evidence is underway to establish the full chain of events.
