Pune: A viral comment about Ketan Agarwal’s alleged use of a wig has ignited widespread debate across social media, drawing criticism, public reactions, and an apology from Dr. Muskan Soni. As conflicting claims and family statements continue to emerge, here’s a closer look at how the controversy unfolded and what is known so far.
Muskan Soni, a dentist in Madhya Pradesh, has been suspended from the All India Dental Students and Surgeons Association (AIDSA) after a viral Instagram post showed her making offensive and disrespectful remarks about Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly murdered by his fiancée.
Dr. Muskan Soni reportedly posted an Instagram video commenting on the murder of Ketan Agarwal. In the Instagram video, she said, "That Pune guy had no hair... If you tell such lies, you will obviously die... So #IHateMen."
Dr. Soni was referring to media reports alleging that the prime accused, Siya Goyal, was reluctant to marry Ketan due to his hair loss and his use of a wig. However, Ketan’s family has strongly denied these claims, stating that his hair loss resulted from a medical condition and that his use of a wig had been fully disclosed to Siya’s family prior to their engagement.
The All India Dental Students and Surgeons Association (AIDSA) on Monday issued a statement stating that Dr. Muskan Soni has been suspended from the post of treasurer, AIDSA Madhya Pradesh for five years with immediate effect.
During the suspension period, she will not be allowed to represent AIDSA in any official capacity, participate in meetings, committees, conferences, events, or organisational activities and and exercise any rights, powers or responsibilities attached to her office or membership.
According to the suspension order, "Dr. Muskan Soni, appointed as Treasurer, AIDSA Madhya Pradesh, vide Appointment Order Ref. No. AIDSA/2025/3147 dated 05.07.2025, has been found to have committed acts of indiscipline and made highly inappropriate, offensive, and disrespectful remarks regarding the late Mr. Ketan Agrawal, in violation of the Constitution, Code of Conduct, and ethical values of AIDSA."
After facing backlash, Dr. Muskan Soni has removed the video and released a statement expressing sincere regret over the incident. She acknowledged that her remarks reflected poor judgment and clarified that they were never intended to offend, hurt, or cause distress to anyone.
She apologized for the impact of her words and expressed her commitment to being more thoughtful and responsible in her communication going forward.
