New Delhi: A sensational murder in New Delhi's Maujpur area on Friday night spread terror throughout the area. Faizan, alias Fazzi, 24, was shot dead at the Mr. King Lounge and Cafe, located in the Welcome police station area. According to eyewitnesses, the attackers entered the cafe and, without warning, opened fire on Faizan. The sudden firing caused panic within the cafe, and people ran for cover.

Incident erupted within minutes of incident

According to police, the incident occurred at around 10:28 pm on January 23rd. Upon receiving information about the shooting, Welcome police arrived at the scene. Faizan was immediately rushed to GTB Hospital in critical condition, where doctors declared him dead. Police recovered bullet casings from the scene and sealed the cafe, which is being examined by a forensic team.

Video viral on social media

A few hours after the incident, a video of a young man named Moin Qureshi claimed responsibility for Faizan's murder. In the video, the accused claimed that he shot Faizan to avenge being slapped four months ago. He also stated that his father or family had no involvement in the incident, nor was there any financial dispute. Following the video's release, the police intensified the investigation.

Family suspects debt dispute

The deceased Faizan's family has rejected the accused's claims. Faizan's brother says that Faizan was a simple young man and had some debt. Due to non-payment of debt, the accused father and son had previously come to their house and assaulted them, a complaint was lodged at the Bhajanpura police station. The family alleges that the police failed to take timely action. The brother also claimed that Faizan was shot three times, and that the cuts on his hands were proof that he had resisted the attackers.

Murder case has been registered

Delhi Police have registered a case under Section 103(1) of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 25/27 of the Arms Act. Several teams have been formed to arrest the accused, and footage from nearby CCTV cameras is being examined. Police say the investigation is being conducted with all aspects in mind.

Family Demands Justice

The family of the deceased has demanded the immediate arrest of the accused and the strictest punishment. Tension prevails in the area, and the police are closely monitoring the situation.
